East Coast Trip Part 3: Niagra Falls

This was the longest day of the tour. We began again with a 6am wake up call. It was straight to the bus to Hershey, PA to visit the Hershey Chocolate World. We got on a “factory tour” which was like a Disney ride except that it smells like chocolate. The three singing cows were REALLY annoying. After the ride everyone got free samples of Hershey Kissables, which are basically Kiss-shaped M&Ms. I bought a lot of food from the gift shop there: 2 cookies, 1 cup of ice cream, and a couple of chocolate bars. I ate all of them the same day. hehe For lunch we stopped somewhere in upstate New York. The tour guide told us to go to the Burger King but we went across the street to Quiznos for subs and Wendy’s for a chocolate Frosty. :9

The next stop was the Corning Glass Museum. At first I waited in line to see the glass making show but left after all the good seats were gone. So instead I explored the museum they had their. They had a demonstration comparing different types of glass and had this one kid try to smash different kinds of glass. It was hilarious when he tried to break the bullet proof glass because he was trying to so hard and couldn’t even chip the glass. There was also this huge football shaped glass sphere where you can walk inside and whisper to people on the other end and be able to hear them hecka loud. After about an hour or so I went to the gift shop and saw this crazy contraption which dispenses glass marbles after it rolls through a series of machines and stuff. The machine kept taking my coins and I had to keep running back to the cashier for tokens. However, I did finally manage to get this cool red marble. =)

Next stop was Niagra Falls, NY. The first thing we did was ride the “Maid of the Myst” cruise that goes hecka close to the bottom of the falls. It was super windy that day and everyone got soaked when a gust blew a ton of water on us. Good thing they passed out ponchos to everybody. After that the bus stopped at a crappy chinese buffet restaurant. From our bad experiences from the previous Chinese restaurants, we decided to go across the street to Target where we got hot dogs. It turns out that after 8pm Target sells hot dogs at a buy 1 get 1 free basis, so we got four hot dogs. After dinner, we yet again returned to Niagra falls to see the night view. It wasn’t really that cool because it was just a few colored spotlights shining on the falls. Whatever.

Now it was like 10:30 pm and we finally headed our way to the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Buffalo. By the time everyone was ready for bed it was already well past midnight and we had another 6am wake up call the next day.

YET AGAIN, we headed to Niagra Falls. This time, however, we went to see the movie being shown in the visitors center. It was one of those IMAX movies which had no plot or a story or anything. Now it was time to head for Boston.
