Summer 2008: June

Ah June…the last weeks of high school…let’s see what I can actually remember…lol

Well first off there must have been a bazillion and a half final projects I had to do. There was the APES experiment in which I had to compare the growth of plants with and without fertilizer. I’m happy to report that two of my three plants are still alive and one of them started blooming! Then there was Project Citizen…no comment about that. For digital imaging we actually had to take pictures and prepare a portfolio of pictures. If you want to see them they’re posted below. For calculus, I had to do a presentation with Omar about trigonometric substitutions. Fortunately, we went first so that we didn’t have to treat everyone to candy 😀 In English we had our speech/research report. Listening to everyone’s speech was quite boring, but it’s better than listening to Ms. Pav

Of course the biggest highlight of the month was graduation. It was a pretty exciting ceremony. By exciting I mean that I know that I never have to attend high school again, not the ceremony itself. Sitting outside in the heat and the bright sun in the black gown was agonizingly painful, but it’s well worth it in my opinion. I remember people blowing up beach balls and blow up dolls and tossing them around. Ah, good times.

The day after graduation, James came over to my house to play the Wii and stuff. In the evening, I held my graduation party at JEBZ restaurant. The food was great, but you could tell the wait staff was overwhelmed and they mixed up orders and some stuff came out very late. Nevertheless, everyone had a great meal and a good time. After dessert, I got some gifts from my family friends. I had got a total of $368 as well as the Nikon D60! I’ve always wanted a DSLR camera, but never had the budget to fork out $1000 to buy it. Well now thanks to Thomas, I got the camera as well as a nice 45mm-200mm zoom lens along with the standard 18-45mm lens. I’ve taken well over 2000 pictures over the summer, and that’s just over the course of two months.
