First Week of Summer

Wow, what a hectic first few weeks of summer.

The first big thing that happened is that X10 (the company that hosts this website) had a huge meltdown in one of their servers. A ton of people lost data during a server move. I was one of the unlucky ones and lost all of my data. Fortunately, I have backups of everything locally, which is why all of my old posts are still here. However, they are still experiencing some issues regarding the addon domains and that is why my old URL is currently pointing at an error screen.

Last Wednesday, I started my second year as an intern at Illumina. It is a great pleasure to be working again with the same team again. A lot has changed in just the 10 months that I’ve been away. The field of biotechnology is evolving very rapidly and it’s hard to keep up with all of the advancements in technology. I can’t really talk about what exactly I’m doing, but it mainly involves testing protocols and helping with the optimization process to make experiments faster and more efficient.

Over the next few weeks, I plan on posting a few things about the field of biotechnology. Hopefully it’ll give you some insight as to why I like doing what I do without having your brain melt in terminology.
