Digital Imaging: OMG we acutally did something.

So last week the cameras finally came in so that the class could go out and take pictures. On Friday we all went out to the amphitheater and took a few pictures with the new cameras. It was the first time I’ve ever used a 35mm film SLR camera, so it was kinda neat having to think about every little detail before taking the pictures and then hoping it came out right when you developed them…

As for actually developing the film, well that wasn’t so fun. Olea, being the disorganized person that he is, has all the chemicals in four identical looking jugs, so I had to figure out what was what by reading an old faded label from like the 1900s. What made it worse was that his instructions were all wrong and the other people overdeveloped their film and it was totally blank. Good thing I have a good memory and remembered the times I used in the past. Nevertheless, it was fun to get my hands dirty developing film again after a few years.

I went ahead and brought my film home and scanned it in so that everyone can see. It’s nothing special since it’s mostly random pictures of people learning to use a camera. Enjoy!
